Motorcycle Commuting: update

I’m still commuting daily on the motorcycle. Today, even though it reached 45 degrees around 1 o’clock when I left work at 6:30 there was a thick layer of frost on all surfaces of my bike.

Opted to scrape off my seat using the back of my gloves. The last couple of days I’ve donned my running pants like long johns under my jeans.

Wardrobe (on top of my underwear):

  • Shoei RF-1000 helmet
  • Silk balaclava
  • Reflective vest
  • Harley-Davidson basic Leather jacket (no lining)
  • Fieldsheer Mesh jacket with armor (provides a great air pocket)
  • Fleece vest
  • Long sleeve shirt
  • Dainese Drake Air pants
  • Levi’s jeans
  • New Balance running pants
  • Dainese TRQ Race Out Air boots
  • Smartwool socks
  • Joe Rocket Sonic gloves
  • Smartwool glove liners
It takes me about five minutes to gear up and about 2 minutes to change into my work clothes when I get there.
For me, motorcycling is a lifestyle which is why I still love to ride when it’s above freezing.

Thanks for reading and happy riding.
